FAQ

When should I have my vaccinations?

It is normally advised to have your vaccinations at least two weeks before travel (unless you require hepatitis B or rabies vaccinations which require a longer period for boosters). It is ideal to have your vaccines around one month before you travel in order to ensure immunity by the time you leave the UK. If you are leaving at short notice, you can come in to discuss your requirements with a doctor who can advise you whether you should pursue vaccinations.

What if I don’t know what vaccines I need?

If you are unsure which vaccinations you need, please book an appointment for a travel health consultation. The appropriate vaccines will be administered in the same session. If vaccinations are administered, the consultation fee is waived. Advice on appropriate vaccinations cannot be given over the telephone as our administration team are not medically trained and unable to give medical advice.

Will I need boosters?

Some vaccinations such as hepatitis B, rabies and cholera require boosters in order to be effective. Others will cover you for a temporary period with a single jab and require boosters for longer term immunity. You can discuss your requirements with the doctor in consultation.
