South & Central America Vaccines

South & Central America medical visa requirements

Requirements for these parts of the world can change periodically due to changes in yellow fever and malaria advice.

In general, yellow fever vaccination is required in South America but not Central America. Please inform us of your exact destinations when you contact the clinic so that exact requirements can be given.

Please note that yellow fever vaccination is only available in our City clinic.

Central America vaccines usually advised are:

  • Diphtheria
  • Polio
  • Tetanus
  • Hepatitis A
  • Typhoid

South America vaccines usually advised:

  • Diphtheria
  • Polio
  • Tetanus
  • Hepatitis A
  • Typhoid
  • Yellow fever

If you will be travelling through rainforest, trekking or mountaineering, you will likely need malaria prophylaxis as well as other recommended vaccinations. These can be discussed with the doctor.

What to do next

Some vaccinations require boosters to be effective so please call us as early as possible before travelling to ensure you have enough time to complete any longer vaccination courses.
