Polycystic Ovary Syndrome tends to cause high oestradiol levels, in combination with other hormonal imbalances. Endometriosis is another condition that can cause fluctuating oestradiol levels.

Oestradiol levels fluctuate throughout the menstrual cycle, so the test may need to be timed at a specific point in the cycle (often on the 2nd or 3rd day of menstruation or around ovulation), depending on the purpose. Please inform your doctor about any medications you are taking. This includes hormonal treatments or birth control.
