Getting Tested
Unprotected sexual contact carries with it the risk of sexually transmitted infection (STI). Not all infections have symptoms, so it is not always possible to know your status.
Getting tested for STIs is quick, straightforward, and gives you peace of mind. Most infections can be treated.
Our Blood Test Package
This test package covers the four main sexually transmitted infections that can be detected by blood test. This includes HIV, hepatitis C, hepatitis B and syphilis.
These infections spread quickly, often do not present with symptoms, and can have serious long-term consequences including infertility. If you have had unprotected sex or are beginning a relationship with a new partner, it is advised that you get tested.
Procedure
There is no specific preparation for this blood test required. However make sure you keep yourself hydrated by drinking a sufficient amount of water. This will make the blood drawing easier.
During the testThis test is a simple blood test. A needle is inserted into a vein, usually on the inner arm near the elbow, and a small amount of blood is drawn. You may feel a pricking or scratching sensation.

Results
During the consultation you will agree on how you would like to receive your results. You can be called by the doctor, sent email or you can give us a call to ensure maximum possible confidentiality.
FAQ
Our team is highly experienced in these matters, and our confidentiality and discretion is faultless. The doctor will not judge you for anything you share, and the more open and honest you can be, the better we will be able to take care of you. If you are really unable to share details, however, a blood test or bacterial swab will still be able to give you accurate results.
If you have never been tested before, but have been sexually active, or if it has been some time since your last test, the full screening is advisable. Depending on other risk factors, the bacterial test may suffice. If you are in a high-risk group for a certain disease, or are sharing intravenous needles, a blood test may be recommended. All of our test packages include a consultation, so the doctor can advise you about any further tests that might be relevant. Give us a call to discuss your options, our team will be able to advise you.
Anyone can contract any STI, but the risk factors for contracting hepatitis, syphilis, and HIV include being a man who has sex with other men, intravenous drug users, and having an existing STI. Unprotected anal sex is the highest-risk sexual activity for contracting HIV.
