HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that attacks the body’s immune system. HIV weakens the body’s ability to fight off disease and infection, by attacking and destroying the T cells (also called CD4 cells) produced by the thymus gland which is a key component of the body’s immune function.
People infected with HIV may not develop symptoms for 10 years or more. HIV cannot yet be cured, but treatment protocols have advanced enough that most people who are HIV-positive are able to live a long and healthy life.

We are committed to confidentiality
An HIV test is the only way to know for sure whether you are infected with the virus. It is important to speak to a doctor as soon as you think you may have been exposed, so that you can get tested. The sooner you are diagnosed, the sooner you can start treatment.
The kind of test you will take depends on the time that has passed since potential exposure to the virus, and involves giving a sample of your blood, which will be checked for signs of infection. The kinds of HIV testing we offer are Multiplex Early Detection, instant HIV test, and the HIV antibody test.
