Qatar Travel & Work Visa Medicals

Whether you are planning to travel or work in Qatar for an extended period, your visa application requires a medical examination.

It is not unusual to undergo additional health testing upon your arrival in Doha, Qatar. However, for the initial medical examination, our team of doctors is ready to assist.

Visa Medical Requirements

You are required to complete a medical check-up at home before arriving in Qatar. We can provide the necessary testing for you, with results available in 24 hours.

Medical testing for travel and work visas to Qatar includes an HIV blood test, Hepatitis B test, Hepatitis C test, syphilis test, blood group test, and a chest X-Ray for tuberculosis.

Pre-Travel Immunisation Advice

When travelling to Qatar, UK citizens should ensure their routine vaccinations are up-to-date, including MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella), DTP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Polio), and Influenza. Hepatitis A and B, and Typhoid are also recommended.

Meningitis vaccination is suggested for travellers visiting during the Hajj or Umrah pilgrimages or in crowded conditions. While Yellow Fever is not a risk in Qatar, proof of vaccination may be required if arriving from a country where it is prevalent.

Optimising Your Visa Health Assessment

Here are some steps to help you streamline the procedure:

  • Schedule Early: Book your medical examination as early as possible to avoid any delays. Some medical tests may take time to process, and you want to ensure all results are ready before your visa appointment.
  • Gather Necessary Documents: Bring all required documents to your appointment, including your passport, visa application number, and any relevant medical records or vaccination certificates.
  • Know What To Expect: Familiarise yourself with the typical components of a visa medical examination, which may include a physical exam, chest X-Ray, and blood tests.
  • Stay Healthy: Take care of your health leading up to the examination. Eat well, stay hydrated, and get plenty of rest. Avoid any activities or substances that could negatively affect your test results.
  • Communicate Any Medical Conditions: Inform the examining physician of any existing medical conditions or medications you are taking. This can help avoid any misunderstandings or misinterpretations of your test results.
  • Being Well-Prepared: By being well-prepared and organised, you can make the visa medical examination process more efficient and less stressful.
