The best practice is to ensure your nannies and babysitters are physically healthy and will not pass on any infectious disease to the children and families they are working with.
There is a range of infectious diseases that would be prudent to test for and these are primarily illnesses that can be passed on through the faecal-oral route and direct contact. Nannies are also susceptible to infection from the children they look after because of this.
These infectious diseases include:
- Hepatitis A
- Coronavirus / COVID-19
- Other ‘flu & respiratory viral infections
- Syphilis
- Salmonella
- E-coli
- Toxoplasma
- Other harmful bacteria
We work with multiple nanny and babysitting agencies and also private families to ensure that their nannies and house staff are healthy and we have in-clinic, at-home and on-site options for testing.
