COVID-19 Antibody Test

Coronavirus Testing in London

COVID-19 Abbott laboratory and Biozek instant antibody testing available now at our private clinics. 50% discount for NHS colleagues and teachers.

We are pleased to offer both rapid and laboratory testing for COVID-19 antibodies. We offer Biozek instant / rapid antibody testing with results within 10 minutes and Abbott laboratory test for COVID-19 IgG antibodies with full blood draw and results in 24 hours.

COVID-19 antibody tests can show whether you have had a previous infection (IgG antibodies).  For a current infection, we continue to recommend a PCR COVID-19 swab which has close to 100% accuracy and can be taken while you are symptomatic at home.

You can also opt for a laboratory Abbott test for IgG antibodies which is 99% accurate.

Biozek instant antibody testing – £98 (50% discount for NHS colleagues and teachers)

  • 98.6% accuracy for IgG antibodies
  • 100% sensitivity
  • 98% specificity
  • Results in just 10 minutes
  • Easy finger-prick test, no phlebotomy
  • Only £98
  • MHRA and FDA registration
  • CE registered

Abbott Laboratory antibody testing – £165 (50% discount for NHS colleagues and teachers)

  • PHE-approved
  • 100% sensitivity
  • 99.7%-100% specificity
  • Excludes false negatives
  • Excludes false positives
  • Can detect fewer IgG antibodies
  • Results in one day

If you are currently symptomatic, we recommend opting for our coronavirus testing package which includes telephone consultation and swab testing at home. If you need to exclude an active infection for travel purpose or to visit someone and are asymptomatic, you can speed up the process by having a PCR swab test at the clinic. Just book online.

The instant tests are not suitable or approved for home use and should be conducted at the clinic as accuracy reduces when done at home due to the relative complexity of the testing process. The tests are registered with the MHRA and FDA and are CE registered.

Biozek tests kits are being used internationally and by the NHS and studies are being updated regularly on accuracy and sensitivity. We are confident that these tests are a reliable test for a past infection.

Please call the clinics or book online to arrange your check-up and test. We have three options available:

  • Instant test: £98
  • Laboratory test for IgG antibodies (Abbott): £165
  • Corporate clients should contact Anisa Goshi at anisa@harleyhealthcentre.com

What does the blood antibody coronavirus test show?

Blood antibody testing tests for IGG and IGM antibodies for the COVID-19 virus. In simple terms, it tells you whether you have previously had the virus or had it recently / currently have it.

It is best practice to confirm a current infection with a PCR swab.

The Biozek antibody test has a 98.6% accuracy for IGG antibodies and 100% sensitivity.

When should I get tested?

We recommend testing 28 days after you started showing symptoms. If you are asymptomatic, you can have the test at any time.

If you are currently symptomatic, we recommend having a PCR swab test which we can send to your home.

When will it be available?

Instant coronavirus antibody tests are available now. We are currently using Biozek COVID-19 antibody test kits for IGG and IGM antibodies.

How accurate is it?

The test for the previous infection is reliably accurate (96 – 98%). The test for the current infection is a little less accurate (88%) which is why we recommend confirmation with a PCR swab.

If you are symptomatic and currently ill, we recommend the PCR swab test which you can do at home with our kit.

Why do you have the test and the NHS does not?

The tests are available to order. The government and the NHS have to source many more tests than us and are struggling with distribution and supply.

There recently was a shortage of the antigen used in the test kits for example.

Our tests have been ordered directly from the manufacturers in smaller numbers which have been easier for the manufacturer to fulfil.
