What test should I have?
This depends on what you want to know!
If you want to know if you currently have COVID-19, you have three options:
- PCR test, which is considered the “gold-standard” of COVID-19 testing and the correct test for fit to fly requirements
- Home-testing kit for PCR which is suitable if you are currently symptomatic or cannot attend the clinic
- Rapid antigen testing, with a fast result within 15-minutes
If you want to know if you have COVID-19 antibodies, you have two options:
- Rapid antibody test with a result within 15 minutes
- An Abbott antibody test with a result in 24 hours that is sent to the laboratory

Tell me more about the rapid antigen test
This is new testing being trialled by the government currently. It is a little less accurate than PCR testing and not accepted yet for travel but is very helpful for work purpose, schools and universities primarily. You can read more here.
