COVID-19 Antibody Test

Coronavirus Testing in London

COVID-19 Abbott laboratory and SureScreen instant antibody testing available now at our private clinics. 50% discount for NHS colleagues.

We are pleased to offer both rapid and laboratory testing for COVID antibodies. We offer SureScreen instant / rapid antibody testing with results within 10 minutes, Abbott laboratory test for COVID-19 IgG antibodies with a full blood draw and results in 24 hours.

We now also provide the Roche quantitative antibody test, also known as the “vaccine antibody test”, which not only provides a positive or negative result, but also the number of antibodies you have. We recommend the Roche test for testing after having the vaccine but it is also helpful for after infection.

COVID antibody tests can show whether you have had a previous infection (IgG antibodies) or an immune response to vaccination.  For a current infection, we continue to recommend a PCR COVID-19 swab which has close to 100% accuracy and can be taken while you are symptomatic at home.

If you are currently symptomatic, we recommend opting for our COVID-19 PCR test home-kit. If you need to exclude an active infection for travel purpose or to visit someone and are asymptomatic, you can speed up the process by having a PCR swab test at the clinic. Just book online.

The instant tests are not suitable or approved for home use and should be conducted at the clinic as accuracy reduces when done at home due to the relative complexity of the testing process. The tests are registered with the MHRA and FDA and are CE registered.

SureScreen tests kits are endorsed by Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College London. These tests are manufactured in Derby. We are confident that these tests are reliable for a past infection.

Please call one of our clinics or book online to arrange your check-up and test. We have three options available:

  • Instant test: £85
  • Laboratory test for IgG antibodies (Abbott): £129
  • Quantitative laboratory test for IgG antibodies (Roche): £129
  • Corporate clients should contact Alya Shakir at [email protected]

What does the blood antibody coronavirus test show?

Blood antibody testing tests for IgG antibodies for the COVID-19 virus. To test for an active infection, you will need a PCR swab.

When should I get tested for COVID?

We recommend testing 28 days after you started showing symptoms. If you are asymptomatic, you can have the test at any time.

If you are currently symptomatic, we recommend having a PCR swab test which we can send to your home.

When will it be available?

Instant coronavirus antibody tests are available now. We are currently using SureScreen COVID-19 antibody test kits for IgG and IgM antibodies and Abbott testing also.

How accurate is it?

The test for the previous infection is reliably accurate (99.6%). The test for the current COVID infection is a little less accurate (approximately 97 – 98%) which is why we recommend confirmation with a PCR swab.

If you are symptomatic and currently ill, we recommend the PCR swab test which you can do at home with our kit.
