Even though UK citizens typically do not require a visa or medical examination to enter Cyprus for short stays of up to 90 days, you will need a visa (and a medical examination) if you intend to stay in Cyprus for work, study, or residency.

When travelling to Cyprus for longer than 3 months, you will typically be screened for HIV/AIDS, syphilis, hepatitis B and C, and TB, depending on your specific visa.
Other vaccinations to consider (though not compulsory) include the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine, the diphtheria-tetanus-polio vaccine, and pre-exposure rabies vaccinations.
The latter is especially important if you are at increased risk due to your work (e.g., laboratory staff working with the virus or those working with bats).

Your examination will include a blood test, so it is important to wear comfortable clothing to make the blood draw process easier. Depending on the type of visa, a chest X-ray may also be required.
Your results will typically be ready within 48 hours. If any abnormalities are detected, we will discuss them with you.
